The Mercedes AMG GT’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The 750S doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Mercedes AMG GT has a standard Active Brake Assist, which uses forward mounted sensors to detect an immediately impending crash (warning the driver first if the available collision warning system is equipped) and automatically apply the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The 750S doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Mercedes AMG GT and the 750S have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Mercedes AMG GT weighs 1173 to 1281 pounds more than the McLaren 750S. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts. Crosswinds also affect lighter cars more.

All wheel drive, available in the Mercedes AMG GT, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. To almost totally eliminate engine vibration in the passenger area, the Mercedes AMG GT has an electronically controlled liquid-filled main engine mount. The Mercedes AMG GT has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The 750S doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

Unlike the driver-only memory system optional at extra cost in the 750S, the Mercedes AMG GT has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Mercedes AMG GT’s standard easy entry and exit feature raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the 750S.

The Mercedes AMG GT offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, tachometer and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The 750S doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Mercedes AMG GT’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The 750S’ cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

Heated windshield washer fluid is standard on the Mercedes AMG GT to defrost the washer nozzles and quickly clear ice and frost from the windshield without scraping. The 750S doesn’t offer heated windshield washer fluid.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the Mercedes AMG GT detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The 750S doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Mercedes AMG GT has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The 750S doesn’t offer cornering lights. The Mercedes AMG GT also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

The Mercedes AMG GT’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The 750S’ visors are fixed into the windshield header.

The Mercedes AMG GT’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The 750S’ power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

The Mercedes AMG GT’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The 750S has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the Mercedes AMG GT keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The 750S doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

On extremely cold winter days, the Mercedes AMG GT’s standard heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The 750S doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The Mercedes AMG GT offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the 750S.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Mercedes AMG GT offers an optional Active Distance Assist Distronic, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The 750S doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the Mercedes AMG GT has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The 750S doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.

The Mercedes AMG GT has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. McLaren charges extra for Homelink® on the 750S.

The Mercedes AMG GT is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access to more content and better coverage than the 750S, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the Mercedes AMG GT offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the 750S.

HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the Mercedes AMG GT equipped with HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The 750S, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Mercedes AMG GT empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Mercedes AMG GT has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the front center console. The 750S doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Mercedes AMG GT’s Active Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The 750S doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
