The AMG GLC 63 S E Performance offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The new SQ5 doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.
The AMG GLC 63 S E Performance offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Audi doesn’t offer an active suspension on the new SQ5.
The AMG GLC’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The new SQ5 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.
For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the AMG GLC’s wheelbase is 2.7 inches longer than on the new SQ5 (113.7 inches vs. 111 inches).
The AMG GLC 63 S E Performance handles at .99 G’s, while the new SQ5 Prestige pulls only .88 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.
The AMG GLC 63 S E Performance executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.1 seconds quicker than the new SQ5 Prestige (23.7 seconds @ .88 average G’s vs. 25.8 seconds @ .75 average G’s).
